being colour blind....
i just realised how bad it is to be colour blind....just now in chemistry class while doin titration experiments, i kept on asking my frens whether the colour had changed or not...coz i wasnt sure when the colour had actually changed.. it was so bad...and i got pissed off and screwed up my first 2 experiments...haha....and yesterday i had stomach ache so i called my dad to ask what medicine i should take...and then he asked me to take some tablet but then he asked me what colour it was ...and i wasnt too sure either..it was somewhat orangy yellowish..haha..another bad thing...another incident which sowed me how bad colour blindness can be is during my driving theory test..where u would have to take the colour test and so on... i could only see a few and the rest i couldnt ..omg...so terrible..lucky for the main test there was only 5 questions so i managed to answer 4 but the last one i asked the person next to me....To add insult to injury ,during my spm, the invigilator asked all students who were colour blind whether they could see the colours in the bio paper 3 properly or not...and everyone in the whole examination turned back to see who were the ppl that were actually colourblind when the guy called out our "angka giliran" .. i was so embarassed as i gave him the thumbs up sign.....during the test there was this question about genes and so on..where u were required to answer the question about why this girl's hair was a certain colour and why her hair was straight or curly...with regard to the picture of her parents... being a colour blind person , i didnt wanna screw up in my spm so i asked one of the invigilators to confirm the colour with me...she told me it was orange....i was thinking to my self whether it was correct or not? coz do ppl actually have orange hair? didnt care ...just followed what she said..and carried on..lucky for the invigilator i did ok in my bio exam..haha..well basically lots of things have happened bcoz of me being colour blind.....this is what i got off wikipedia about colour in short...for further explanation and infomation go to wikipedia and search under colour blindness...enjoy...
Color blindness in humans is the inability to perceive differences between some or all colors that other people can distinguish. It is most often of genetic nature, but may also occur because of eye, nerve, or brain damage, or due to exposure to certain chemicals. The English chemist John Dalton in 1794 published the first scientific paper on the subject, "Extraordinary facts relating to the vision of colors", after the realization of his own color blindness; because of Dalton's work, the condition is sometimes called Daltonism, although this term is now used for a type of color blindness called deuteranopia.Color blindness is usually classed as a disability; however, in select situations color blind people have advantages over people with a full color range. Color blind hunters are better at picking out prey against a confusing background, and the military have found that color blind soldiers can sometimes see through camouflage that fools everyone else. Monochromats may have a minor advantage in dark vision, but only in the first five minutes of dark adaptation.
